Gal-Yam and D. Maoz, Tel Aviv University, report for the Wise Observatory Optical Transients Search, report their discovery of apparent supernovae on unfiltered CCD images taken by Gal-Yam (with A. Daniel on July 11) using the Wise Observatory 1-m telescope: SN 1999 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. R Offset 1999dc July 10 14 44 08.80 +58 53 31.6 19.3 -- 1999dd July 10 0 27 31.06 +21 42 47.0 21.1 -- 1999de July 11 0 22 28.20 +23 23 56.2 21.2 4".0 W, 4".8 N IAUC 7227 (extract) Editor: SN 1999db although announced on IAUC 7227 as found by this same group, has now been rejected by T.Matheson as its CCD spectrum suggests it is a QSO. (IAUC 7228) SUPERNOVA 1999df IN CGCG 274-026 T. Puckett and I. Siegert, Mountain Town, GA, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.2) on an unfiltered CCD frame (limiting mag 20.0) taken with a 0.60-m automated supernova patrol telescope on July 20.16 UT. SN 1999df is located at R.A. = 15h08m56s.52, Decl. = +52o26'53".1 (2000), which is 5".9 north of CGCG 274-026. The new object was also present on an unfiltered CCD frame taken on July 21.09, but it was not present on an unfiltered CCD frame taken on June 8.17 (limiting mag about 20.5), nor does it appear on a second-generation Palomar Sky survey image (limiting mag 20.7) taken on 1991 April 19. IAUC 7228 (extract) SUPERNOVA 1999dg IN UGC 9758 M. Modjaz and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of the Lick Observatory Supernova Search, report the discovery with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) of an apparent supernova in UGC 9758 (= MCG +02-39-007). SN 1999dg was discovered on unfiltered images taken on July 23.2 UT (mag about 16.7) and confirmed on images taken on July 24.2 (mag about 16.5). The new object is located at R.A. = 15h11m28s.41, Decl. = +13o29'05".7 (2000), which is 4".8 east and 5".2 north of the nucleus of UGC 9758. A KAIT image of the same field on July 15.2 (limiting mag about 19.0) showed nothing at the position of SN 1999df. IAUC 7229 (extract) SUPERNOVA 1999dh IN IC 211 Modjaz and Li also report the discovery (as above) of an apparent supernova in IC 211. SN 1999dh was discovered on unfiltered images taken on July 23.5 UT (mag about 15.4) and confirmed on images taken on July 24.5 (mag about 15.6). The new object is located at R.A. = 2h11m06s.07, Decl. = +3 51'06".9 (2000), which is 29".0 west and 1".7 south of the nucleus of IC 211. A KAIT image of the same field on Feb. 4.2 (limiting mag about 19.0) showed nothing at the position of SN 1999dh. IAUC 7229 (extract) Guy M Hurst
