Puckett, Mountain Town, GA, and D. George, Ottawa, ON, on Feb. 28.36 (mag 18.1) with the Puckett Observatory 0.35-m automated supernova patrol telescope (limiting mag 19.5). Sala provides the position of SN 2000K as R.A. = 11h47m49s.76, Decl. = +56o01'00".1 (2000), which is about 15" east-southeast of the host galaxy, noting that this location is about 200" north-northeast of NGC 3888. Puckett gives the position end figures for the supernova as 49s.99, 01".4, or 15".2 east and 5".6 south of the centre of MCG +9-19-191. Sala notes that the new star is absent on a comparison image of the galaxy obtained on 1998 Apr. 22. Puckett reports that SN 2000K was also present on an unfiltered CCD frame taken on 2000 Feb. 29.08, but it was not present on a frame taken on Feb. 9.28, and it does not appear on Palomar Sky Survey images taken on 1993 Apr. 25 (limiting mag about 21.0) or 1950 Mar. 21 (limiting mag about 20.0). IAUC 7371 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2000L IN UGC 5520 T. Puckett, Mountain Town, GA, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 17.8) on an unfiltered CCD frame (limiting mag 19.3) taken with the Puckett Observatory 0.35-m supernova patrol telescope on Feb. 29.13 UT. The candidate is located at R.A. = 10h15m01s.82, Decl. = +65o08'03".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 6".9 east and 19".3 south of the centre of UGC 5520. The new object was also present on an unfiltered CCD frame taken on Mar. 1.02, but it was not present on a frame taken on 2000 Jan. 7.25, and it does not appear on Palomar Sky Survey images taken on 1997 Jan. 11 (limiting mag about 21.2) and 1953 Feb. 8 (limiting mag about 20.1). IAUC 7372 SUPERNOVA 2000M IN NGC 6389 A. Dimai, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.5-17.0) by Marco Migliardi from unfiltered CCD images taken on Feb. 27.17 and 27.20 UT during the Col Druscie Remote Observatory Supernova Search with the 0.5-m reflector. A third image showing the new object was obtained by Migliardi on Feb. 28.186. H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, reports his measurement of the position of SN 2000M from Migliardi's discovery image: R.A. = 17h32m39s.61, Decl. = +16o23'54".9 (2000); Migliardi reports that the new object is 3" west and 13" south of the nucleus of NGC 6389. An unfiltered image taken on 1999 July 24 shows nothing at the position of SN 2000M (limiting mag about 19.0), and it does not appear on the Palomar Sky Survey. W. Li, University of California at Berkeley, writes that he obtained a confirmation image of SN 2000M at mag about 16.8 (unfiltered) with the Katzman Auotmatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on Mar. 1.5 UT. The position end figures of the new object are 39s.67, 54".1, being offset 1".6 west and 12".6 south from the nucleus of NGC 6389. AQ CMI Gary Poyner advises that his observation of this outburst as reported on E1499 was a confirmation rather than an independent detection. Guy M Hurst
