Puckett, Mountain Town, GA; and A. Sehgal, Woodinville, WA, report their discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.9) on an unfiltered CCD frame (limiting mag 20.5) taken with the Puckett Observatory automated 0.60-m supernova patrol telescope on May 9.23 UT. SN 2000cf is located at R.A. = 15h52m56s.19, Decl. = +65o56'12".7 (2000), which is 3".1 east and 4".3 north of the centre of MCG +11-19-25. IAUC 7421 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2000cg IN UGC 10121 Y. Sato and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of the Lick Observatory Supernova Search, report the discovery with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope of an apparent supernova on unfiltered images taken on May 6.4 (mag about 18.6) and 9.4 UT (mag about 19.0, limiting mag about 20.5). The new object also appeared on an image taken on Apr. 27.4 UT (mag about 18.6). SN 2000cg is located at: R.A. = 15h59m45s.52, Decl. = +18o48'13".0 (2000), which is 4".0 west and 9".0 north of the nucleus of UGC 10121. IAUC 7421 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2000ch IN NGC 3432 A. V. Filippenko, University of California at Berkeley has reported that this is a subluminous type-IIn supernova similar to SN 1997bs in NGC 3627 and SN 1999bw in NGC 3198 rather than a variable star which was mentioned in E1521. The provisional alert from the GRB team no longer applies. SUPERNOVA 2000ci IN NGC 6470 T. Puckett and A. Langoussis, Mountain Town, GA, report their discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 18.1) on an unfiltered CCD frame (limiting mag 20.5) taken with the Puckett Observatory 0.60-m automated supernova patrol telescope on May 12.28 UT. SN 2000ci is located at R.A. = 17h44m13s.21, Decl. = +67o35'46".3 (2000), which is 1".7 east and 10".3 north of the centre of NGC 6470. IAUC 7424 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2000cj IN NGC 6753 Robert Evans, Hazelbrook, N.S.W., reports the visual discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 14.8) on May 14.7 UT with a 0.31-m reflector. A CCD image taken in bright moonlight by T. Dobosz, Bankstown, N.S.W., with a 0.28-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope on May 15.6 shows the new star superimposed upon a spiral arm of the galaxy, and a measurement of this image by G. L. White, Nepean Centre for Astronomy, Kingswood, N.S.W., yields the following position for SN 2000cj: R.A. = 19h11m27s.49, Decl. = -57o03'14".1 (2000), which is about 35" east and 19" south of the nucleus of NGC 6753. IAUC 7425 (extract) (Our sincere congratulations to Bob Evans, a TA subscriber, on his latest success. He is currently writing a general article on supernovae for a future edition of the magazine:ed). HT CAM (Q2000/265) Timo Kinnunen, Finland reports the detection of a rare outburst of HT Cam on May 15.927 at magnitude 12.9. A further report received later from Patrick Schmeer confirms. Guy M Hurst
