On 2000 July 11.565, the estimated visual magnitude was 14.0. Confirmation has been received from Gary Poyner who observed the star on July 12.030 and 12.054 at magnitude 14.7. The previous, and also first visual detection, was by Jochen Pietz on 1996 Sept 17.9 which, according to Gary Poyner, was very poorly observed but, as far as he is aware, the star did not become brighter than magnitude 15.0. It is not clear from the above whether a fade has already set in or if the difference in magnitude is due to sequences. The present sequence for TA observers is dated 1988 Dec 27 and we recommend it is used for the current outburst whilst we examine whether further chart improvements can be made. Please e-mail results daily during the current outburst. Guy M Hurst
