He reports that the discovery image was secured on 2000 Sept 11.01UT with the 0.30-m Schmidt-Cassegrain + Hale CCD. The limiting magnitude of this 45 second exposure was 19.0. Mark measured the position as: RA 01h56m40.56s DEC +34 10'12.9"(2000) SN magnitude 17.0. The editor notes end figures from Aazami et.al. were: RA 40.63s DEC 12.4" Various confirmatory images were taken during the early hours of Sept 11. Investigations by Mark show the object missing from master image of 1999 Nov 6 (limiting magnitude 19.5) and a recent patrol shot of 2000 Aug 28 (limit 18.5). Further Palomar Survey shots of 1992.834 (limit 22.5, blue) and 1989.918 (limit 20.8, red) also do not show it. The Central Bureau have now formally credited Mark with this independent discovery on IAUC 7491 and we extend our congratulations on this further success. EDITORIAL NOTICE Subscribers will be aware from E1557 that the editor was abroad on holiday until September 13. Unfortunately both myself and my wife fell ill upon our return and only recovered fully yesterday. This did, unfortunately, delay preparation of the September issue which had to wait until my return. Nevertheless, through the considerable cooperation of our printers, who produced it the same day it was delivered to them and our production manager who is working flat out this evening, we still hope to post it on Thursday September 21, just one day late. This effort to clear the magazine, means that over 1,000 e-mails waiting on my return (Sept 1 onwards) remain unread. They will be processed as soon as possible but it is unlikely this backlog can be read and actioned until this weekend. Guy M Hurst
