T.Dall, Nordic Optical Telescope and University of Aarhus, Denmark also report the coordinates of their suspect with end figures: RA 09.62s DEC 11.2" (2000) On Sept 27.8-28.1UT they recorded it at magnitude R=19.3. Although this object may be the afterglow, it is also possible it is an uncatalogued variable star. Continued observations are urgently required and, assuming no fade since the above results, it probably can be imaged with apertures of 0.3-m or greater in conjunction with CCD's. However as the ID is not yet secure, please also check the whole field for any other new objects. Please e-mail any images and results as soon as possible. Guy M Hurst
