NEW SERVICE
We have decided to dedicate the issue of FINDERS format charts to
these new circulars under category 4 rather than category 3 as
previously. In addition we will advise you of other minor changes
to charts not in FINDERS format together with general notes on
charts and sequences. Contributions from subscribers are welcomed
relating to chart improvement, which can include appeals to other
observers for assistance. In this way chart checking can be
undertaken on a team basis without duplication of effort. We will
also discuss differences between our charts and those of the AAVSO
and BAA with the aim of a common sequence for all.
Those charts issued with FINDERS format will subsequently also be
added to our WWW pages in 'GIF' format and can be accessed by those
with GOLD subscriptions using passwords. 
This new service has adopted the name of 'Charts and Sequences
Notes' (CSN) after an earlier service along the same lines launched
with CSN 1 in November of 1974. These were conducted by Alan Pickup
who has kindly allowed the name to be re-introduced. To avoid
duplicate of earlier numbers, this series starts at No. 101.
