Puckett, Mountain Town, GA, provides his astrometry and photometry of an apparent supernova (mag about 17.5) discovered by B. Holmes, Charleston, IL, on an unfiltered CCD frame taken with a 0.40-m reflector on Jan. 10.10 UT: R.A. = 3h40m43s.05, Decl. = -6o24'59".1 (2000), which is 5".8 east and 2".9 south of the centre of MCG -01-10-19. The new object was confirmed at mag 17.5 on an unfiltered CCD frame (limiting mag 20.5) taken by Puckett with the Puckett Observatory 0.60-m reflector on Jan.13.01. SN 2001H does not appear on Palomar Sky Survey images (limiting mag about 21.0) taken on 1987 Nov. 15 and 1982 Sept. 16. IAUC 7560 SUPERNOVA 2001I IN UGC 2836 S. Beckmann and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of LOTOSS, report the discovery with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) of an apparent supernova (mag about 17.2) on an unfiltered image taken on Jan.15.2 UT. The new object was confirmed on earlier images taken on 2000 Dec. 23.2 (mag about 18.4) and 28.3 UT (mag about 17.7). SN 2001I is located at: R.A. = 3h43m57s.28, Decl. = +39o17'39".4 (2000), which is 4".1 east and 2".5 south of the nucleus of UGC 2836. IAUC 7563 SUPERNOVA 2001J IN UGC 4729 S. Beckmann and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of LOTOSS, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 17.5) on unfiltered images taken on Jan. 15.4 and 16.3 UT with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT). SN 2001J is located at R.A. = 9h00m43s.23, Decl.= +17o37'15".6 (2000), which is 19".2 east and 2".4 south of the nucleus of UGC 4729. IAUC 7564 SUPERNOVA 2001G IN MCG +08-17-43 We are delighted to report spectral confirmation of the supernova found by Mark Armstrong and included on E1600. Our impression that it was caught on the rise by Mark seems to be confirmed from the details in the IAUC below: T. Matheson, S. Jha, P. Challis, and R. Kirshner, Harvard- Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, report that spectra of SN 2001G, obtained by M. Calkins on Jan. 15.31 UT with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope (+ FAST spectrograph), show it to be a type-Ia supernova before maximum light. The spectrum consists of a blue continuum with well-defined Si II and Ca II features. The spectral-feature age of the supernova (Riess et al. 1997, A.J. 114, 722) is 2 +/- 2 days before maximum light. IAUC 7564 Guy M Hurst
