D. Li and M. Modjaz, University of California at Berkeley (UCB), on behalf of LOTOSS, report the discovery of a supernova (mag about 18.1) on unfiltered images taken on Mar.3.34 and 3.47 UT with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT). SN 2001Y is located at R.A. = 10h44m50s.42, Decl. = +6 35'50".8 (2000), which is 18".0 west and 2".3 north of the nucleus of NGC 3362. SN 2001Y was confirmed at about the same brightness on an unfiltered image taken by M. Schwartz on Mar. 4.2 with the Tenagra Observatory 0.5-m automatic telescope. Images of the same field taken with the Tenagra 0.5-m telescope on Feb. 19.3 (limiting mag about 18.5) and with KAIT on 1999 Apr. 10.3 (limiting mag about 19.5) showed nothing at this position. IAUC 7592 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001Z IN IC 3528 Modjaz and Li also report the LOTOSS discovery of another apparent supernova (mag about 18.3) on an unfiltered image taken with KAIT on Mar. 3.5 UT. SN 2001Z is located at: R.A. = 12h34m55s.87, Decl. = +15o34'07".5 (2000), which is 0".5 west and 11".2 north of the nucleus of IC 3528. The new object was confirmed (mag about 18.5) on an unfiltered image taken by Schwartz on Mar. 4.4 with the Tenagra 0.5-m telescope. A KAIT image of the same field taken on Feb. 6.4 showed nothing at the position of the new object (limiting mag about 19.5). IAUC 7592 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001ab IN NGC 6130 A. B. Aazami and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of LOTOSS, report the discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered CCD images taken on Mar. 11.5 (mag about 17.5) and 12.5 UT (mag about 17.4) with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT). SN 2001ab is located at: R.A. = 16h19m34s.83, Decl. = +57 37'05".5 (2000), which is 10".9 east and 11".4 north of the nucleus of NGC 6130. A KAIT image taken on 2000 Aug. 15.3 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.0). IAUC 7595 SUPERNOVA 2001ac IN NGC 3504 S. Beckmann and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, on behalf of LOTOSS, report the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 18.2) on unfiltered CCD images taken on Mar. 12.4 and 13.3 UT with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT). SN 2001ac is located at R.A. = 11h03m15s.37, Decl. = +27 58'29".5 (2000), which is 55".3 east and 9".1 north of the nucleus of NGC 3504. A KAIT image taken on Feb. 4.4 UT showed nothing at this position (limiting mag about 19.0). IAUC 7596 SUBSCRIPTION LAPSES We would appreciate it if all subscribers would avoid late renewals as the procedure for reinstatement does produce considerable extra work for the secretary and editor. Where this does, unavoidably occur, subscribers to e-circulars will probably have missed several circulars. If an e-mail is sent to the editor with confirmation of the numbers missed, we will endeavour to resend them when time permits. Guy M Hurst
