Busch, A. Seib, F. Hormuth, and R. Stoss, Starkenburg- Sternwarte, Heppenheim; and A. Gnadig and A. Doppler, Archenhold- Sternwarte, Berlin, report the recovery of P/1987 Q3 (= 1987w = 1987 XVII) on CCD images taken by Busch, Seib, and Hormuth with the EOCA 1.52-m reflector at Calar Alto, with the astrometry given below (measurements by Stoss, Gnadig, and Doppler). The indicated correction to the prediction by B. G. Marsden on MPC 31664 (ephemeris on MPC 42160) is Delta(T) = -1.0 day. 2001 UT R.A. Modjaz and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on June 19.3 (mag about 16.5) and 20.3 UT (mag about 16.3). SN 2001cp is located at R.A. = 17h11m02s.58, Decl. = +5 50'26".8 (2000), which is 49".1 west and 40".0 south of the nucleus of UGC 10738. IAUC 7645 (extract) BC UMA (Q2001/228) Mike Simonsen, USA reports his detection of an outburst of BC UMa on 2001 June 25.170 at 13.7v using a 0.25-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. This was confirmed by M.Reszelski, Poland on June 25.898UT at 13.2v (0.41-m reflector). Gary Poyner, Birmingham reports the object was not seen on June 24.972UT to a limit of 14.0. Mike Simonsen subsequently provided follow-up estimates: 2001 June 26.184UT, 13.1; 27.156, 13.1. Guy M Hurst
