Yu, M. Modjaz, and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova (mag about 18.1) in an unfiltered image taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on June 25.5 UT (confirmed on an earlier image taken on June 9.5 at mag about 17.9 under partly cloudy conditions). The new object is located at: R.A. = 22h58m00s.28, Decl. = +6 03'48".4 (2000.0), 2".9 west and 23".3 south of the nucleus of UGC 12266. IAUC 7651 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001cy IN UGC 11927 M. Ganeshalingam, M. Modjaz, and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on June 30.5 (mag about 16.3) and July 1.4 UT (mag about 16.2). The new object is located at R.A. = 22h09m27s.76, Decl. = +40o59'16".5 (equinox 2000.0), which is 3".6 east and 6".1 south of the nucleus of UGC 11927. IAUC 7655 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001cz IN NGC 4679 R. Chassagne, Ste. Clotilde, Ile de Reunion, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 14.7) on unfiltered CCD images taken on July 4.64 and 5.61 UT with a 0.30-m reflector. SN 2001cz is located at R.A. = 12h47m30s.17, Decl. = -39o34'48".1 (2000), which is 0".6 west and 31".4 south of the nucleus of NGC 4679. IAUC 7657 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001da IN NGC 7780 C. Yu and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on July 9.5 (mag about 16.5) and 10.5 UT (mag about 16.3). SN 2001da is located at R.A. = 23h53m32s.78, Decl. = +8 07'02".6 (2000), which is 8".7 east and 2".7 south of the nucleus of NGC 7780. IAUC 7658 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001db IN NGC 3256 R. Maiolino and M. Della Valle, Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri, Florence; L. Vanzi, European Southern Observatory (ESO); and F. Mannucci, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerce, Florence, report the discovery of a supernova during a campaign of near- infrared monitoring of luminous infrared galaxies: "SN 2001db was discovered at mag 16.27 in a K_s-band image obtained on 2001 Jan. 9.3 UT with the ESO New Technology Telescope (+ SOFI), when compared with a previous archival K_s image from Nov. 1999. To our knowledge, this is the first supernova ever discovered in the infrared. SN 2001db is located at R.A. = 10h27m50s.4, Decl. = -43o54'21" (2000), which is 6" west and 6" south of the K_s nucleus of NGC 3256 (uncertainty on relative position about 0".4).
