Mark Armstrong responded to the appeal issued to the TA Checking Group and his astrometry using 11 GSC stars with Astrometrica software gave a similar position to that of the discovery. Dave Balam in Victoria, Canada also responded by sending an image showing the suspect secured on 2001 July 31 at 11h05m39sUT with the 1.82-m Plaskett Telescope. Unfortunately the proximity of the suspect to the galacy nucleus meant that it was not entirely clear from Palomar Sky Survey images as to whether it had been recorded before but the master image by Tom of 1999 Sept 22 did not show it. The Central Bureau therefore issued the following: Guy M. Hurst, Basingstoke, England, reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 15.6) by Tom Boles (Coddenham, England) on an unfiltered CCD image (limiting mag about 18.5) secured for the U.K. Nova/Supernova Patrol on July 29.959 UT with a 0.36-m Schmidt- Cassegrain telescope. Nothing was visible on Boles' CCD image from 1999 Sept. 22 (limiting mag 18.5). The new object is located at R.A. = 1h22m14s.59, Decl. = +34o40'11".3 (2000), which is 5" west and 3" north of the nucleus of UGC 913. Mark Armstrong (Rolvenden) confirmed the presence of SN 2001dk at about the same brightness on a CCD image taken on July 31.039, which yielded the following position end figures: 14s.50, 11".4. IAUC 7675 Congratulations to Tom on this success and our thanks to the two observers providing confirmatory images. SUPERNOVA 2001dj IN NGC 180 M. Papenkova and W. D. Li, University of California, report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on July 29.5 (mag about 17.9) and 30.5 UT (mag about 17.7). The new object is located at R.A. = 0h37m52s.22, Decl. = +8o38'33".0 (2000) which is 80".8 west and 27".1 north of the nucleus of NGC 180. IAUC 7674 SUPERNOVA 2001dl IN UGC 11725 C. Yu and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on July 30.4 (mag about 17.1) and 31.3 UT (mag about 17.0). The new object is located at R.A. = 21h21m01s.73, Decl. = +9 10'50".4 (2000) which is 1".8 west and 10".6 north of the nucleus of UGC 11725. IAUC 7675 Mark Armstrong adds that he recorded this suspect on an unfiltered CCD image taken on 2001 July 30.994 with a 0.30-m SCT but had not been able to check it due to a backlog of data due to unusually good weather in the UK: RA 21h 21m 01.74s DEC +09o10' 50.0" Mag 16.43. There is a possibility that SN 2001dl also appeared at around mag 18.5-19.0 on a frame with the same telescope on 2001 July 28.003. Guy M Hurst
