The instrument, details of which were apparently omitted from the IAUC, was a 0.36-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with an unfiltered CCD. Although an appeal was issued to 'The Astronomer' Checking Group, no independent observations were received. However Mark obtained follow-up images enabling the following IAUC to be issued. Our congratulations to him on this further success. Guy M. Hurst, Basingstoke, England, reports the discovery by Mark Armstrong of an apparent supernova (mag 17) on an unfiltered CCD image (limiting mag 19) taken on Sept. 1.160 UT. From this image, SN 2001ee was measured at R.A. = 7h16m04s.12, Decl. = +64o42'19".7 (2000), which is 5" west and 20" south of the centre of NGC 2347. Images taken by Armstrong on Sept. 5.015 and 5.127 show the new object at mag 17.1 and yield averaged position end figures 04s.14, 19".6. Nothing is visible at this position on an image obtained by Armstrong on 2000 Oct. 2 (limiting mag 19.5), and nothing is present on second Palomar Sky Survey images from 1989 Dec. 23 (red, limiting mag 20.8), 1997 Mar. 9 (blue, limiting mag 22.5), and 1995 Nov. 16 (infrared). Hurst adds that SN 2001ee is absent from an image in J. C. Vickers' Deep Space CCD Atlas: North (1993, p. 75; limiting mag about 19.5). IAUC 7705 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001ec IN PGC 74077 D. Weisz and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, reports the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova (mag about 17.8) in an unfiltered image taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on Aug. 31.5 UT. The new object is confirmed at mag about 18.3 in an earlier image taken on Aug. 19.5. SN 2001ec is located at R.A. = 2h12m00s.43, Decl. = +31o32'43".8 (2000), which is 5".1 east and 5".5 north of the nucleus of PGC 74077. IAUC 7702 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001ed IN NGC 706 M. Migliardi, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 14.9) on unfiltered CCD images taken with a 0.5-m telescope on Sept. 2.96 and 3.01 UT in the course of the CROSS program. SN 2001ed is located at R.A. = 1h51m51s.08, Decl. = +6 17'27".4 (2000), which is 9" east and 20" south of the nucleus of NGC 706. IAUC 7703 (extract) Pre-discovery magnitudes of SN 2001ed (cf. IAUC 7703): Aug.21 UT, V = 14.7 +/- 0.5 (M. Salvo and B. Schmidt, Mount Stromlo Observatory, from Southern All-Sky Supernova Survey images); 22.13, about 14.5 (P. Antonini, Avignon, France, unfiltered CCD); 29.13, about 15.0 (Antonini). IAUC 7704 Guy M Hurst
