Hazel McGee, England, also reports that she observed it at 10.9v (TA sequence) on Sept. 24.857UT using a 0.30-m Schmidt-Cassegrain (x117). A further observation by Bjorn Granslo, Norway, placed it at 11.0v on Sept. 24.923UT (Tycho-2 sequence) with a 0.15-m reflector. According to TA E-Circular 1579, dated 2000 Nov 17, the last recorded outburst was detected by Chris Jones on 2000 Nov 16. SUPERNOVA 2001dn IN NGC 662 R.Chornock et al., University of California at Berkeley, have obtained a spectrum, on Sept 12, of this supernova, found by Tom Boles (TA E-Circular 1667). It is shown to be of type Ia about one month past maximum. IAUC 7716 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001dw IN NGC 1168 This discovery by Tom Boles (TA E-Circular 1677) has been found to be a type-Ia, several weeks past maximum, according to a spectrum reported by R.Chornock. IAUC 7716 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001dz IN UGC 471 Chornock also reports that a spectrum of this object, found initially by Tom Boles (TA E-Circular 1680, shows it to be of type II, probably not long after maximum light. IAUC 7716 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001eb in NGC 1589 T.Matheson et al. report that a spectrum of this supernova, discovered by Tom Boles (cf TA E-Circular 1682), has been obtained by Berlin on Sept. 11.48UT showing it to be a type-Ia several weeks after maximum light. IAUC 7714 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001ee IN NGC 2347 This discovery by Mark Armstrong was announced on TA E-Circular 1684. Chornock reports that a spectrum shows it to be of type-II several months after maximum. IAUC 7716 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001ef IN IC 381 Matheson also reports that a spectrum by Berlind of this object on Sept 11.50UT shows it to be a type-Ia near maximum light. This supernova was found by Mark Armstrong (TA E-Circular 1687). IAUC 7714 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001eg IN UGC 3885 A spectrum of this object reported by R.Chornock shows it to be a type-Ia several months past maximum brightness. This explains the initial difficulty in confirming this object found by Mark Armstrong and reported on TA E-Circular 1688. IAUC 7716 (extract) Guy M Hurst
