The final attendance figure was 63. SUPERNOVA 2001ei IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY P. Martin and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley, report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope. SN 2001ei is located at R.A. = 23h51m02s.95, Decl. = +27o10'55".6 (2000), which is about 5" north of the nucleus of a faint galaxy that is itself located about 56" east and 122" north of the nucleus of NGC 7768. Magnitudes for SN 2001ei: Aug. 14.4 UT, [19.0; 19.4, 18.7; 24.4, 18.0; 25.4, 17.9; 30.4, 17.8; Sept. 5.4, 18.2; 15.4, 19.1; 17.3, 19.2. IAUC 7718 SUPERNOVA 2001ej IN UGC 3829 A. Dimai, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag about 16.5) on CCD images taken on Sept. 17.12 (limiting mag about 18.5) and 18.14 UT (limiting mag about 19.5) with a 0.51-m reflector in the course of the CROSS program. SN 2001ej is located at R.A. = 7h23m43s.23, Decl.= +33o26'38".0 (2000), which is about 4" west and 7" north of the centre of UGC 3829. IAUC 7719 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001el IN NGC 1448 (Q2001/259). A report was received at TA HQ from Liebert Monard in South Africa indicating he had visually discovered a supernova in NGC 1448. Congratulations to Monard and here is the relevant IAUC: Liebert A. G. Monard, situated 40 km east of Pretoria, South Africa, reports his visual discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 14.5) on Sept. 17.064 UT. Using a 0.32-m reflector, Monard estimated the new object to be about 9" west and 15" north of the centre of NGC 1448, and he observed SN 2001el again at m_v = 14.3 on Sept. 17.930; nothing was noticed at this location to mag 14.6 on Aug. 25.96. G. Bock, Edens Landing, Queensland, estimates mag about 13.2 for SN 2001el from an unfiltered CCD image taken on Sept.18.61. A. Wassilieff, Palmerston North, New Zealand, reports the following position for SN 2001el from an unfiltered CCD image taken through clouds on Sept. 18.636 (when the new object appeared at mag 13.9) with a 0.38-m reflector: R.A. = 3h44m30s.60, Decl. = -44o38'23".4 (2000), which is 14" west and 20" north of the nucleus of NGC 1448. J. Biggs provides the following position end figures for SN 2001el from three unfiltered CCD images obtained on Sept. 19.62 with the 0.25-m Mike Candy Telescope at Perth Observatory: 30s.57 +/- 0s.02, 23".7 +/- 0".3 (USNO-A2.0 reference stars), which is about 22" west and 19" north of the centre of NGC 1448. IAUC 7720 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001di IN UGC 3259 The discovery of this object found by Mark Armstrong was announced on TA E-Circular 1662 issued on 2001 July 31. Filippenko and Chornock, University of California at Berkeley report that a spectrum shows it to be of type-II beginning to enter the nebular phase with strong H-alpha emission.
