J. Hutchings and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley (UCB), report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope on Oct. 17.5 (mag about 17.8) and 18.5 UT (mag about 17.6). SN 2001ez is located at R.A. = 5h42m37s.64, Decl. = +69o14'14".6 (equinox 2000.0), which is 3".3 east and 2".0 north of the nucleus of PGC 17642. IAUC 7736 (extract) SUPERNOVA 2001ew IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY (Q2001/262) Filippenko and Chornock, UCB, advise that inspection of a CCD spectrum (range 330-1000 nm) obtained on 2001 October 20 with the 3-m Shane reflector, shows this object, found by Tom Boles and announced on E1699, to be of type Ia, less than a week after maximum light. SUPERNOVA 2001fa IN NGC 673 M. Papenkova and W. D. Li, University of California at Berkeley (UCB), report the discovery by LOTOSS of an apparent supernova in unfiltered images taken with the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT) on Oct. 18.4 (mag about 16.9) and 19.4 UT (mag about 16.4). The new object is located at: R.A. = 1h48m22s.22, Decl. = +11o31'34".4 (2000), which is 4".0 west and 17".5 north of the nucleus of NGC 673. IAUC 7737 (extract) Guy M Hurst
