Tom Matheson et.al., Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics have now reported on IAUC 7787, spectral confirmation. The spectrum, taken by M.Calkins on 2002 Jan 6, shows it to be a type-II supernova. SUPERNOVA 2002B IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY A supernova of about magnitude 20 has been found on exposures of 2002 Jan 7 during the SuperMacho microlensing survey using the Cerro Tololo 4-m telescope. Its location is: 05h 40m 46.06s DEC -71 51'15.1" (2000), placing it in a galaxy behind the Large Magellanic Cloud according to IAUC 7791. SUPERNOVA 2001ih IN MCG +06-40-3 The discovery report for this object found by Tom Boles appeared on TA E-Circular 1723. R.Chornock et.al., University of California, Berkeley, have reported on IAUC 7792 that a noisy spectrum of the object obtained on 2002 Jan 14 with the Shane 3-m reflector at Lick Observatory shows it may be of type II-b and probably 1-2 months past maximum light. SUPERNOVA 2002C IN IC3376 A further LOTOSS supernova was recorded on a Jan 14 image at magnitude 16.7 using the Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope according to a report in IAUC 7793. The position is quoted as: RA 12h 27m 52.66s DEC +27 00'06.1" (2000), 30.6"E and 30.7"N of IC3376. Guy M Hurst
