Using a 0.25-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope he estimated the visual magnitude as approximately 14.8. He again observed it on May 22.324UT at 14.9v. Maciej Reszelski, noted it fainter than 15.6 and not seen on May 18.008UT. As the object is on the Recurrent Objects Programme, Gary Poyner issued an appeal to selected observers for images to be obtained. Nick James, Chelmsford and Martin Mobberley, Bury St Edmunds, responded with images taken about 2002 May 22.9UT. The TA chart, last revised 1990 October 29, shows the correct identification from W. J. Miller Ric. Astr. 8 No. 10 [1971] and this is the same star seen in outburst on the images by James and Mobberley. Unfortunately the sequence to magnitude 17.6 on the TA chart by Miller is largely based on photographic magnitudes. However from this source the approximate magnitude on the confirmatory images was estimated by the editor as 15.4-15.5. Nick James reports the measured position as: RA 20h 06m 11.56s DEC +33d 42' 37.9" (2000). The end figures on the Downes and Shara on-line version are: RA 11.58s, DEC 37.7". In addition the editor notes that an earlier image by Nick James of 1996 Sept 12 may show the object very near the limit at about magnitude 17 although this is uncertain. Guy M Hurst
