Cox, USA have reported on IAUC 7917 that they have detected a magnitude 17.6 possible supernova on an image of 2002 June 9.3UT obtained with a 0.35-m patrol telescope. The position is: RA 16h 52m 23.30s DEC +30 42' 40.0" (2000), with offsets 7.4"E and 0.1"N of the nucleus of MCG +05-40-2. SUPERNOVA 2002dj IN NGC 5018 The LOTOSS team have found a possible supernova of magnitude 17.0 on KAIT images of 2002 June 12.2UT. The object is located at: RA 13h 13m 00.34s DEC -19 31' 08.7" (2000). SUSPECT OBJECT IN CEPHEUS (Q2002/041) Astronomers in Poland have contacted us regarding a photographic image obtained of Cepheus on 2002 May 5.875UT which appears to show a new stellar object of about magnitude 11.0 at the following position: RA 20h 34m 46s DEC +60 16' 24" (2000). Although on the single exposure (10 mins duration) the object looks genuine, independent confirmatory images around May 5 are needed. The picture was taken with a 300mm telephoto lens on Fuji Press 800ASA and the limiting magnitude is about 15. It is noted that the object is relatively near NGC 6946 although not necessarily connected in any way. Additionally Comet Ikeya- Zhang was in this general area in late April and any images with a telephoto lens would be worth checking to see if they cover this position. Please send any positive images to the editor. If other images cover the area but the object is absent, please advise us of the date, time and limiting magnitude. Guy M Hurst
