COMET P/2002 T6 (NEAT-LINEAR) Peter Birtwhistle, Great Shefford, England, has reported that his images of an object detected by NEAT/LINEAR and posted on the NEOCP page appears to be a comet. His CCD images taken with a 0.3-m reflector on 2002 Oct 27.9UT show two faint, thin, straight tails in PA 107 (36" long) and PA 310 (39" long) and a nuclear condensation with diameter about 8". (2000) Decl. m2 Observer Oct. 4.49860 1 15 17.65 +10 51 00.9 20.1 NEAT 7.25970 1 14 01.38 +10 36 52.1 19.4 LINEAR COMET C/2002 T7 (LINEAR) Peter Birtwhistle also reports that his images of an object, reported as asteroidal by LINEAR, shows it to be of cometary appearance. CCD images taken on 2002 Oct 28.0UT show the object to be slightly 'softer' than stars of similar brightness. The discovery position is from IAUC 8003. 2002 UT R.A.
