Tom noted that it was not on his earlier images of 2002 Apr 4 (limiting magnitude 18.5), April 19 or June 1. Further it was absent from Palomar Sky Survey red and blue plates. The position quoted was: RA 11h 58m 29.58s DEC +27 31' 45.1" (2000), 6.8"E and 1.0"N of the galaxy's nucleus. On IAUC 8009, G. Pignata et.al., ESO report that a spectrum was obtained on Nov 6.19UT showing it is a type-II supernova similar to SN 1992H. The new object was therefore designated SN 2002hm. SUPERNOVA 2002hk In MCG +07-15-6 The LOTOSS team have reported on IAUC 8007 their discovery of a possible supernova of magnitude 18.2 on a KAIT image of 2002 Nov 2.5UT at: RA 07h 07m 14.05s DEC +44 48' 46.2" (2000). The offsets from MCG +07-15-6, the parent galaxy, are 11.9"E and 14.0"S. SUPERNOVA 2002hn IN NGC 2532 The LOTOSS team also report on IAUC 8009 a possible supernova of magnitude 16.8 on a KAIT image of NGC 2532 obtained on 2002 Nov 5.5UT. The candidate is located at: RA 08h 10m 14.95s DEC +33 57' 19.4" (2000), 0.5"W and 4.6"S of the galaxy's centre. Astronomers at Lick Observatory report that the spectrum indicates it is of type Ic, one week after maximum. Guy M Hurst
