The discovery was made on a KAIT image of Nov 11.5UT and the object, of mag 18.3, is located at: RA 08h 27m 39.43s DEC -14 47' 15.7" (2000). The possible supernova is offset 4.2"W and 20.3"S of the galaxy's nucleus. SUPERNOVA 2002hy IN NGC 3464 Berto Monard in Pretoria, South Africa advises that he has detected a possible supernova of magnitude approximately 16.4 in NGC 3464. The initial image was an unfiltered CCD shot of Nov 12.1UT using a 0.30-m telescope. The location is: RA 10h 54m 39.18s DEC -21 03' 41.2 (2000) and the offsets are: 14.8"W and 17.0"N of the centre of the galaxy. Subsequently IAUC 8016 has been issued designating it as SN 2002hy and commenting that this is the second probable supernova found this year in this galaxy, the previous one being SN 2002J. TA AGM 2003 Amplifying the comments in the editorial of the magazine this month we now must consider our 2003 meeting. Denis Buczynski and Glyn Marsh have kindly offered to arrange one in October next year at Alston Hall, Preston, a venue that proved successful for a recent BAAVSS meeting. The TA event would, for the first time, be a weekend (from Friday evening) and the approximate cost would be L100 for a residential stay. The weekend of 2003 October 10-12 looks a possibility. Please e-mail the editor if you would be interested in attending. Please state whether this would be as a day only visitor or whether you would envisage staying as a resident for the whole weekend event. Guy M Hurst
