Visual reports indicate peaks around Nov. 19.174 (primary peak re return of comet 55P in 1767) and 19.45UT (secondary from 1866 return), agreeing with predictions by P. Jenniskens and also by McNaught and Asher. Jonathan Shanklin advises us that he observed from St Maximin where preliminary results are from skies with ZLM 5 for the entire display and no significant cloud. He observed from 00:40 to 05:40 - shower at half max from approx 03:45 - 04:28. Peaks at approx 03:50 (equivalent hourly rate approx 350), 04:10 (450) and 04:24 (300). SUPERNOVA 2002hz In UGC 12044 The LOTOSS team have reported another supernova detected on a KAIT image of Nov 16.2UT at magnitude 17.8 according to IAUC 8017. The object, in the galaxy UGC 12044, is located at: RA 22h 27m 49.54s DEC +38 35' 09.5" (2000) which is 13.9"E and 2.6"S of the nucleus. SUPERNOVA 2002ia IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY IAUC 8017 also carries a note that W. M. Wood-Vasey et.al. have found a possible supernova on NEAT images of Oct 30.52UT at magnitude 19.2. The position is: RA 01h 45m 38.52s DEC +24 08' 07.9" (2000), 4"W and 4"N of an anonymous galaxy. Guy M Hurst
