On 2002 Dec 8.710UT, an unfiltered CCD image recorded it at magnitude 14.3. Mike Simonsen, Almont, Michigan, USA also observed it visually on Dec 9.06 at magnitude 14.0 using a 0.30-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. Taichi Kato, Japan, adds that the last maximum on 2001 December was a superoutburst. SUPERNOVAE 2002iu-2002jd R. C. Smith, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory and others have reported on IAUC 8021 their detection of 10 supernovae recorded 2002 Oct 30-Nov 20 with the CTIO Blanco 4-m telescope. All objects are in anonymous galaxies and are magnitude 18.9 or fainter. SUPERNOVA 2002je IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY B. Beutler et. al., have detected a possible supernova of magnitude 17.7 on a KAIT image of Nov 20.2UT at: RA 00h 27m 22.42s DEC +24 10' 59.1" (2000), 2.2"W and 3.4"N of the centre of an anonymous galaxy according to IAUC 8021. SUPERNOVA 2002jf IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY W. M. Wood-Vasey has provided details on IAUC 8022 of a possible supernova of magnitude 19.7 on a NEAT image of Oct 30UT and located at: RA 02h 34m 35.43s DEC +12 17' 25.4" (2000), 3"E and 1"S of the centre of an anonymous galaxy. SUPERNOVA 2002jg IN NGC 7253 A LOTOSS supernova discovery announcement has appeared on IAUC 8022. The magnitude 17.0 object, recorded on a KAIT image of Nov 23.2UT is located at: RA 22h 19m 28.80s DEC +29 23' 04.5" (2000), 20.0"W and 13.1"S of the brightest south-east nucleus of the triple galaxy NGC 7253.
