The position was measured as: RA 01h 21m 16.27s DEC +40 29' 55.3" (2000). The offsets were measured as: 46.4"W and 37.6"N and the object was of about magnitude 16.3. Ron noted that it was not present on the Digitised Sky Survey POSS- blue plate of 1995. Tom Boles obtained an image on Dec 18.731UT also showing the object and Ron secured further confirmatory images. According to IAUC 8035 where the designation 2002jy was assigned to Ron's discovery, T Vanmunster also reported an independent discovery on CCD images of Dec 18.96UT. Our congratulations to Ron on this further success. SUPERNOVA 2002jo IN NGC 5708 Dimai has reported the discovery of a supernova in NGC 5708 according to details on IAUC 8031. The first detection of the magnitude 16.3 object was on a CCD image of Dec 11.20UT at: RA 14h 38m 16.42s DEC +40 27' 14.0" (2000), 1"E and 10"S of the nucleus. SUPERNOVA 2002jp IN NGC 3313 A LOTOSS supernova discovery in NGC 3313 also appears on IAUC 8031. The object, of magnitude 16.9, was first recorded on a KAIT image of 202 Nov 23.5UT at: RA 10h 37m 26.50s DEC -25 51' 35.2" (2000). The offsets from the galaxy's centre are: 13.6"E and 145.9"S. SUPERNOVAE 2002jq-2002jx The ESSENCE project members have reported detection of eight supernovae on IAUC 8034. All were imaged with the Blanco 4-m telescope at Cerro Tololo between Nov 5 and Dec 6 and are magnitude 21 or fainter. Guy M Hurst
