The new object is located at: RA 18h 12m 05.67s DEC +29 09' 17.3" (2000), 1.3"E and 4.2"S of the centre of the galaxy, UGC 11151. Tom noted the object was absent from his images of 2002 Aug 29, Sep 29 and Oct 18. It was also not on The Quick V Northern plate of 1982. Tom subsequently obtained confirmation by imaging the object on Jan 30.166UT when it remained near magnitude 17.0. The object has been designated Supernova 2003X and announced on IAUC 8062. We congratulate Tom on his 34th supernova discovery. SUPERNOVA 2003V In ANONYMOUS GALAXY IAUC 8060 carries an announcement that W. M. Wood-Vasey at. al., have recorded a magnitude 18.2 possible supernova on 2003 Jan 16.16UT with the Palomar 1.2-m Schmidt at: RA 03h 05m 43.05s DEC -01 24' 12.8" (2000), 3"W and 2"N of the centre of an anonymous galaxy. SUPERNOVA 2003W In UGC 5234 A further LOTOSS detection of a possible supernova has been reported on IAUC 8061. The candidate is of magnitude 17.3 and was recorded on Jan 28.4UT at: RA 09h 46m 49.48s DEC +16 02' 37.6" (2000), 0.3"W and 3.4"N of the centre of UGC 5234. A spectrum by T. Matheson on Jan 29 indicates it is of type-Ia well before maximum and clearly needs continued attention. SUPERNOVA 2003Y In IC 522 A further LOTOSS/KAIT supernova was announced on IAUC 8062. The object, of magnitude 17.4, was detected on Jan 29.3UT at: RA 08h 54m 34.60s DEC +57 10' 19.8" (2000), 3.7"W and 18.9"N of the centre of IC 522. SUPERNOVA 2003Z IN NGC 2742 Y. L. Qui et. al., Beijing Astronomical Observatory, recorded a magnitude 16.7 supernova on Jan 29.7UT at: RA 09h 07m 32.46s DEC +60 29' 17.5" (2000) according to IAUC 8062. The offsets from NGC 2742, the parent galaxy, are 8.4"W and 31.0"N. SUPERNOVA 2003P IN MCG +09-13-107 Further to the announcement on TA E-Circular 1847 regarding this discovery by Tom Boles, R. J. Foley at. al., report on IAUC 8060 that spectra indicate this is of type Ia, about one month past maximum light. SUPERNOVA 2003U IN NGC 6365A Further to the report on TA E=Circular 1849 giving details of this discovery by Tom Boles, Matheson also reports this is a type-Ia supernova near maximum. Guy M Hurst
