It was absent from his images of 2002 April 6 and May 30 to approximately magnitude 19. The position is: RA 14h 10m 07.24s DEC +17 37' 05.3" (2000), 4.6"E and 8.1"N of the galaxy's centre. The designation 2003aq was given on IAUC 8072. Out congratulations to Tom. SUPERNOVA 2003ar IN MCG +12-15-47 Tom Boles also reports discovery of another possible supernova, on Feb 6.162UT at: 16h 02m 08.11s DEC +70 24' 55.5" (2000). This magnitude 17.9 object is 4.8"E and 5.9"S of the nucleus and absent from an earlier exposure of 2003 Jan 23 to magnitude 19.5. A later exposure of Feb 14.142UT appears to show a brightening to magnitude 16.8. The object was designated 2003ar on IAUC 8072. Congratulations again to Tom for this success. SUPERNOVAE 2003aj, 2003ak, 2003al IAUC 8069 carries details of three supernovae reported by the staff of the Space telescope Science Institue. They are fainter than magnitude 24. SUPERNOVAE 2003am, 2003an Two further LOTOSS supernova discoveries have also appeared on IAUC 8069, both recorded on Feb 9 by KAIT: 2003am RA 13h 20m 43.57s DEC -22 02' 53.5" mag 17.8, 2.9"W, 11.1"N 2003an 13 27 53.55 +28 30 29.2 16.9, 4.2"E, 0.1"N SUPERNOVA 2003ao IN NGC 2993 A further LOTOSS discovery, this time in NGC 2993, has been reported on IAUC 8070. This possible supernova is of magnitude 17.3 and was recorded on a KAIT image of Feb 10.4UT at: RA 09h 45m 48.46s DEC -14 22' 14.0" (2000). 2.3"E and 8.4"S of the galaxy's centre. SUPERNOVA 2003ap IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY W. M. Wood-Vasey reports detection of a mag 16.7 possible supernova on NEAT images of Feb 9.3UT at: RA 09h 50m 52.83s DEC -21 51' 10.1" (2000), 0.7"W and 0.9"S of the host galaxy. Guy M Hurst
