David Briggs confirmed the existence of the new object on an exposure obtained on 2003 Mar 22.863UT using the Hampshire Astronomical group's 0.60-m f/4.7 Newtonian and obtained a precise position for the suspect: RA 10h 14m 16.06s DEC +03 28' 1.9" (2000) Ron calculated offsets of the suspect from the galaxy as 15.4"E and 3.5" N. Ron adds that the limit of the discovery plate was about 17.5 and the object was not visible on his image of Mar 14 nor is it present on the 2nd Generation Digitised Sky Survey or listed on CBAT's Minor Planet Checker. According to IAUC 8097, in addition to Ron's discovery, an independent detection was made by Koichi Itagati of Yamagata, Japan on an image of March 21.51UT using a 0.60-m reflector. The object was designated SN 2003cg in the same IAUC. Congratulations to Ron on his 8th supernova discovery. SUPERNOVA 2003cb IN NGC 4885 A further LOTOSS discovery of a supernova appeared on IAUC 8094. This magnitude 17.9 object in NGC 4885 was first recorded on Tenagra images of March 13.4UT at: RA 13h 00m 33.25s DEC -06 51' 09.3" (2000), 10.1"W and 1.7"N of the galaxy's centre. SUPERNOVA 2003cc, 2003cd, 2003ce, 2003cf W. M. Wood-Vasey report discovery of four supernovae found on NEAT images of Feb 3-Mar 11, all of magnitude 19.5 or fainter, according to IAUC 8095.
