MARGARETA WESTLUND 1942 - 2003
It is with regret that I must relay the sad news received today
from Hans Bengtsson in Sweden that Margareta Westlund has died at
the age of 60. Margareta will probably be someone who most TA
readers will know of but never met simply because she was a very
private and modest person.

Her contributions, as a long standing TA subscriber, are legendary
particularly in the area of colour photography where she regularly
combined the view of an important celestial object with unusual
features on the ground. It was examples of this work, which she
regularly sent for display at TA AGM's, which led to her receiving
exhibition awards.

Hans has kindly submitted a short summary of her achievements which
will be published in the next issue of 'The Astronomer'.
