EDITOR'S ABSENCE
The editor will be away and not contactable from Thursday July 17
until Sunday July 27. Additionally, due to work commitments on my
return, it is unlikely I can begin to clear the e-mail backlog
until the end of the month. I would appreciate it if, from July
28-31, calls were restricted to very urgent matters, such as
discoveries, only.

During my absence please refer any discovery claims to Nick James

SUPERNOVA 2003gm IN NGC 5334
Michael Schwartz et. al., have reported on behalf of LOTOSS, a
possible mag 17 supernova recorded on 2003 July 6.2UT in NGC 5334
according to a report on IAUC 8164. The position is:
RA 13h 52m 51.72s DEC -01 06' 39.2" (2000), placing the object
40.3"W and 13.4"N of the centre of the host galaxy.

SUPERNOVA 2003gd in MESSIER 74
An e-chart to (b) format for supernova 2003gd was included on CSN
116 issued on 2003 June 20. The existing (b) chart for supernova
2002ap, which occurred in the same galaxy, has also been revised on
CSN 117 issued on the same date. Both these charts are now
available on the TA WWW site to GOLD subscribers with passwords.
