He has also submitted a confirmatory image by Ted Dobosz of Sidney, obtained on July 30.767UT from which a precise position has been measured as follows: RA 02h 27m 38.36s DEC -01 09' 35.4" (2000). The offsets from the host galaxy's nucleus are: 13.4"E and 14.6"S. Bob adds that his colleagues at Cerro Tololo obtained a spectrum on July 30 suggesting this may be a type-Ia supernova about one week after maximum. The object was subsequently designated as Supernova 2003gs on IAUC 8171. SUPERNOVA 2003gn IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY A LOTOSS discovery of a magnitude 18.4 supernova has been reported on IAUC 8168. The object is located at: RA 22h 33m 51.68s DEC +20 48' 08.5" (2000) and was first detected on July 22.4UT. It is 16.4"E and 11.0"S of the centre of the host galaxy. SUPERNOVA 2003go IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY A further LOTOSS supernova detection has also been announced on IAUC 8168. This object, of magnitude 18.6, was also first recorded on July 22 and is located at: RA 19h 52m 47.68s DEC -19 11' 28.2" (2000), 4.8"E and 0.7"S of the centre of the host. SUPERNOVA 2003gp IN UGC 10160 Yet another LOTOSS supernova detection (on July 23.2UT) appears on IAUC 8168, this time of a magnitude 18.6 object in UGC 10160. The supernova is 12.9"E and 12.0"S of the nucleus and located at: RA 16h 03m 55.47s DEC +25 00' 24.8" (2000) SUPERNOVA 2003gq IN NGC 7407 Tim Puckett and A. Langoussis have reported their discovery of a magnitude 17.6 supernova in NGC 7407 first recorded on July 24.32UT at: RA 22h 53m 20.68s DEC +32 07' 57.6" (2000), 5.0"W and 11.3"N of the galaxy's centre. The object was not recorded to a limiting magnitude of 20.0 on 2003 July 8 according to IAUC 8168. SUPERNOVA 2003gr IN MCG -04-55-14 A further LOTOSS supernova discovery appears on IAUC 8169. This object, of magnitude 16.3, was first recorded on July 27.5UT at: RA 23h 38m 12.67s DEC -20 46' 56.0" (2000), 5.9"W and 0.8"N of the centre of MCG -04-55-14. Guy M Hurst
