The object is located at: RA 19h 52m 17.93s DEC +58 58' 52.5" Mag 17.5 The limiting magnitude was 19.5. Offsets 10.9" W, 12.6" N. Mark adds that nothing appears at this position on his images of July 19 and Nov 12 (LM 19.0) nor on the POSS images. In a subsequent e-mail Mark advised that he had obtained a confirmatory image on Nov 28.720UT (limiting magnitude 19.0) using a 0.35-m Schmidt-Cassegrain. The object was subsequently designated supernova 2003kh and announced on IAUC 8245. Congratulations to Mark on the discovery of his 52nd supernova. UZ BOOTIS Pavol Dubovsky, of Podbiel, Slovakia, has reported a rare outburst of the WZ Sge-type variable, UZ Bootis. On Dec 5.184, the magnitude was estimated to be 12.8. Gary Poyner adds that the position is: RA 14h 44m 01s DEC +22 00' 9" (2000). Patrick Schmeer, Germany, reports that the star was fainter than magnitude R=17.5 and not recorded on Dec 4.545UT using the University of Iowa, Rigel Telescope (0.37-m Cassegrain). The last confirmed outburst was in 1994. Arto Oksanen, Nyrola Observatory, Finland has confirmed the outburst on a V-filtered CCD image of Dec 6.0UT when the magnitude was measured as 12.9.
