On 2004 Jan 23.229UT the visual magnitude was estimated to be 14.5. Instrument: 0.305-m f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The position is: RA 11h 43m 39s DEC +71 41.3' (2000) According to a report from the AAVSO, this is the first outburst since 2000 Nov. 15 (when it peaked at m_v = 10.1 and faded to quiescence in 4 days). However Parick Schmeer, Germany reports he detected an outburst on on 2001 Sept. 24.792 UT at mv= 11.4. TA E-Circular 1693 carries news of various observers who saw this event. The current outburst has been confirmed by W. Kriebel of Germany) who estimated it at magnitude 11.4 on Jan 23.73UT. SUPERNOVA 2004A IN NGC 6207 IAU Circular 8265 carries news of the discovery by K. Itagaki (Japan) of an apparent supernova of mag 15.7 in NGC 6207 on CCD frames taken with a 0.28-m reflector on 2004 Jan. 9.84 UT. A confirmatory image of Jan 10.75UT showed it at the same magnitude. It is located at: RA 16h 43m 01.90s DEC +36 50'12.5" (2000), 22"W and 17"N of the centre of parent galaxy. Guy M Hurst
