Jonathan Shanklin, observing from Rothera, Antarctica has also e-mailed to report an observation on Mar 5.12UT with 10x50 binoculars: m1=7.2, coma diameter 9 arc minutes. SUPERNOVAE 2004ar IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY The Sloan Digital Sky Survey team have reported on IAUC 8302 that a supernova has been detected on a spectrogram of 2004 Feb 20.27UT during a redshift survey.
