Tom measured the following position: RA 14h 19m 53.88s DEC +51 53'49.6" (2000), 6.3"W and 8.1"N of the galaxy's nucleus. He also adds that the suspect is 25"W and 68"N of a magnitude 10.4 star catalogued as GSC 3478.469. The suspect is not present on Tom's images of 2004 Feb 20 and March 22 where the limiting magnitude was 19.5 and also it is absent from the DSS II red (1994.442) or blue plates (1995.237). A further e-mail received on May 18 advised that a confirmation image was obtained on May 18.001UT The object was announced on IAUC 8341 and designated as supernova 2004bt. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 64th supernova. Guy M Hurst
