The astrometry was based on multiple unfiltered CCD images obtained with a 0.35-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope but from a single night: June 22.013UT RA 15h 43m 45.75s DEC +28 24'59.5" (2000) 4.1"W and 4.4"N of the centre of the host galaxy. The suspect is not present on Tom's images of 2004 March 20 and May 16 limiting mag 19.5) and it is not present on DSS II red (1989.179) or blue plates (1993.297). Persistent bad weather prevented confirmation by Tom so he enlisted assistance from Weidong Li who obtained confirmation on an unfiltered image of June 24.201UT when the estimated magnitude was 17.5. The object was designated supernova 2004ct and announced on IAUC 8361. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 66th supernova.
