Various messages received also suggest the object may be a member of the rare class of WZ Sge variable. Hitoshi Yamaoka, Japan reports that he I has examined Itagaki-san's unfiltered CCD image taken on July 1.67 UT when the new variable was mag about 15.5. The astrometry with respect to 211 UCAC-2 stars (fitting RMS is about 0".07 for each coordinate) yield: RA 18h 39m 26.171s, DEC +26 04' 09.63" (2000) It is somewhat southeast of the position measured with June 17.56 UT when it was mag about 12.3. The fitting error is also about 0".07 for each coordinates (vsnet-alert 8184). 18:39:26.152, +26:04:09.89 (J2000.0) -- June 17. It is possible that a 2MASS star near the CV affects the position; 2MASS 18:39:26.19 +26:04:08.8 J=13.399 H=12.853 K=12.542 . Thus, it seems that the CV is probably the other one than the 2MASS star. If so, the quiescent counterpart should be dimmer than mag about 19-20. VS Alert 8212 SUPERNOVA 2004cw IN ESO 184-75 C. Jaques (Brazil) discovery of a possible supernova (IAUC 8362): SN 2004 UT R.A.
