Following the excellent meeting held last year at Alston Hall, thanks to the hard work undertaken by Denis Buczynski, this year we are reverting to St. Mary's Church Hall in Basingstoke where the meeting will take place on Saturday October 9. I have already been in touch with our founder, Jim Muirden who was the first editor of 'The Astronomer' when it was formed in 1964 and who continued in this role for most of the first eleven years. He has confirmed he will attend. We have also heard from Peter York, one of the key TA secretaries in the early years who has also confirmed attendance. Several of you recalled the anniversary cake at the 30th anniversary in Basingstoke and asked if Anne could create another for this special event which she will be pleased to arrange. The programme is now being considered and a further announcement with booking details will be made later this month. In the meantime please reserve this date in your diaries. Guy M Hurst
