It was noted on multiple images of 2004 July 26 and located at: 2004 07 26.90255UT RA 15h 55m 41.02s DEC +47 51'49.1", 23"W 11"S of the host galaxy. (Limiting magnitude of frame 19.0). Mark noted that the suspect was not present on my previous images from 2003 Feb. 22 (LM 19.0), 2004 Apr.26 (LM 19.5), Jun.30 (LM 19.0), Jul.6 (LM 19.5) and Jul.14 (LM 19.5). There was also no trace on POSS-II images blue (1993.461, 1993.289, LM 22.5) and red (1993.313, 1989.185 , LM 20.8) Later on July 27, Mark reported confirmation on an image of July 27.891UT with end figures RA 40.98s, DEC 49.1". Ron Arbour, South Wonston, England also reported his independent discovery for the UK Nova/Supernova Patrol in a message of July 27. The image was July 27.911UT obtained with a 0.3-m f/6.3 Schmidt-Cassegrain and a Starlight Xpress CCD. End figures from astrometry: RA 40.98s DEC 48.8" The object, of magnitude 16.8 at discovery, was not present on Ron's image of July 18.922UT which had a limiting magnitude of 17.5. The object has been designated Supernova 2004di on IAUC 8376. Congratulations to Mark (67th supernova) and Ron (12th). SUPERNOVA 2004dg IN NGC 5806 A. Vagnozzi, Italy, has reported on IAUC 8375 his discovery with D. De Pasquale et. al., of an apparent magnitude 17.1 supernova on unfiltered CCD images taken with 0.50-m and 0.30-m reflectors on 2004 July 19.854. The object is located at: RA 14h 59m 58.96s DEC +01 53'25.6" (2000), 19"W and 3"S of the centre of NGC 5806. Hitoshi Yamaoka, Japan reports that K. Itagaki (Japan) found SN 2004dg at mag 16.8 on an unfiltered CCD image taken on July 21.534. SUPERNOVA 2004dh IN MCG +04-1-48 LOSS discovery of a possible supernova (IAUC 8375): SN 2004 UT R.A.
