Itagaki, Teppo-cho, Yamagata, Japan, has reported the discovery of a very bright supernova in NGC 2403 on images obtained with a 0.60-m reflector on 2004 July 31.76UT. The object, of magnitude 11.2, is located at: RA 07h 37m 17.02s DEC +65 35'57.8" (2000), 160"E and 10"N of the host galaxy. The discoverer again imaged the object on August 1.45UT then at magnitude 11.3, this based on unfiltered CCD images. Itagaki could not detect the object on images of 2002 Sept 19 and October 11 to a limit of magnitude 18.5. Kamil Hornoch, Czech Republic, has reported a visual magnitude of 11.5 for August 2.062UT using a 0.13-m reflector. Guy M Hurst
