The object, of magnitude 17.1, was recorded on an unfiltered CCD image taken on Sept 09.973UT with a 0.35-m Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. It is located at: RA 01h 09m 58.51s DEC +32 22'47.7" (2000), 11.0"W, 41.0"N of the centre of host galaxy. The suspect is not present on Tom's images of 2004 July 28 and Aug 25 (limiting mag 19.5) and it is not present on DSS II red (1989.823) or blue plates (1988.711). T. Puckett independently discovered the object on Sept 11.25UT at magnitude 16.8. The object was designated supernova 2004ek and announced on IAUC 8405. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 76th supernova. SUPERNOVA 2004ej IN NGC 3095 Discovery by Berto Monard of a possible supernova (IAUC 8405): SN 2004 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag.
