ASAS 002511+1217.2 Aaron Price, AAVSO, reports that G. Pojmanski has detected a new cataclysmic variable (V = 10.49 +/- 0.02) on images of the ASAS-3 survey taken on Sept. 11.203 UT. Astrometry by Arne Henden with the 1.0-m US Naval Telescope gives its position as: RA 0h 25m 11.087s, DEC +12 17' 12.25" (2000). Nothing is seen at that location on twenty-two ASAS-3 images taken between 2002 Dec. 15.041 and 2004 Sept. 6.363 (limiting V magnitude 14). The variable is recorded at mag 17.5 on a Digitised Sky Survey blue plate of 1992 Aug. 29. SUPERNOVA 2004eo IN NGC 6928 Discovery by K. Itagaki of a possible supernova (IAUC 8406): SN 2004 UT R.A. A spectrum by Calkins on Sept 10.13UT shows it to be a type-Iin supernova according to IAUC 8408. SUPERNOVA 2004ed IN NGC 6786 The discovery of this object by Mark Armstrong was reported on TA E-Circular 2034. A spectrum by Calkins of Sept. 10.17UT shows it to be a late-time type-II supernova. SUPERNOVA 2004ei IN UGC 2817 Further to the report of Tom Boles' discovery of this object on TA E-Circular 2039, a spectrum by Berlind with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope on Sept. 11.43UT reveals that it is a type-II supernova according to a report on IAUC 8408. SUPERNOVA 2004ek IN UGC 724 Tom Boles' discovery report of this object appeared on TA E-Circular 2040. A spectrum also by Calkins of Sept. 14.47UT shows it to be a young type-II supernova. SUPERNOVA 2004em IN IC1303 A. V. Filippenko, University of California, Berkeley, reports on IAUC 8411 that a spectrum of this object, discovered by Mark Armstrong (TA E-Circular 2042), obtained on Sept 24UT with the Shane 3-m reflector, shows it to be of type II, near maximum.
