SUPERNOVA 2004eu IN MCG +07-5-39 Further to the announcement on E2049 of the discovery by Tom Boles of a supernova in MCG +07-5-39, Alex Filippenko, et. al., University of California, Berkeley have reported on IAUC 8418 that CCD spectra obtained on Oct. 13 with the Shane 3-m reflector reveals that SN 2004eu is probably of type Ic, perhaps a week or two past maximum brightness. A similar finding comes from M. Modjaz et.al. PLANETARY NOTES Mark Kidger reports that an incorrect file of planetary notes was submitted for publication in the October issue. The corrected file has now been received by the main editor and will appear in the November issue. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. TA E-CIRCULARS TO HOTMAIL Further to the announcement on TA E-Circular 2050, a number of e-mails have been received from the Hotmail support staff but investigations about the occasional garbled e-circulars is still continuing. They are investigating whether there is a link with recent overloads due to unprecedented e-mail levels reaching Hotmail. All TA E-Circulars are being copied to a test Hotmail mailbox maintained by the editor and further issues since E2049 have not been affected. If anyone with a Hotmail account has an alternative mailbox they wish to use please advise the editor. Guy M Hurst
