We understand an independent discovery was made by Yukio Sakurai (also Japan) on Nov 20.81UT using a 180mm lens in conjunction with a CCD. A further e-mail has been received from Giovanni Sostero in Italy who reports photometry using a 0.25-m f/5.7 Schmidt-Cassegrain with CCD on Nov 22.093UT: Johnson B= 8.48; Johnson V= 7.62; Cousins R= 7.06; Cousins I= 6.45 Brian Skiff, USA, comments that improved coordinates appearing elsewhere appear to correspond closely to a mag 19 star visible on sky surveys. Although this is an apparent blended pair on some catalogues, they are resolved in USNO B1.0 with coordinates: RA 07h 41m 53.61s DEC -27 06' 38.3" (J2000) Aaron Price of the AAVSO team advises that a preliminary and unchecked chart for this object has been posted to: http://www.aavso.org/cgi-bin/searchcharts3.pl?name=n%20pup%2004 However this is currently being checked and may be revised again during the course of the next few days.
