The object, located in an anonymous galaxy, was confirmed on images of Jan 13.036UT. The position is: RA 11h 15m 29.42s DEC +60 45' 05.5" (2000), 3.0"W and 10.7"N of the centre of the host galaxy The suspect is not present on Tom's images of 2004 Apr 21 and Nov 20 (limiting mag 19.5) and it is not present on DSS II red (1993.305 limiting mag 21.0) or blue plates (1994.283 limiting mag 21.5) The object has subsequently been designated supernova 2005C and announced on IAU Circular 8463. Congratulations to Tom on the discovery of his 84th supernova. SUPERNOVA 2005D IN UGC 3856 Discovery by LOSS of a possible supernova (IAUC 8464): SN 2004 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag.
