(2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset 2005bf Apr. 5.72 10 23 56.99 -03 11 29.3 18.0 13"E, 32"S SUPERNOVA 2005z IN NGC 4961 According to IAUC 8507 the host galaxy for this event appears to be NGC 4961 and not NGC 4960 as previously quoted in IAUCs and TA E-Circular 2102. CG DRACONIS Gary Poyner reports that Jeremy Shears has detected the faint dwarf nova CG Draconis which is on the BAAVSS Recurrent Objects Programme. On 2005 April 9.006UT it was recorded at 16.08C. Roger Pickard has also obtained an image under poor conditions on April 12.009 at 15.5V, thus confirming that CG Dra is in outburst. In IBVS 5124 Kato & Nogami state that CG Dra is an unusual system, with a possible outburst cycle shorter than 82 days. The star was included in the ROP in the hope that we can confirm the short outburst cycle of this star. Hopefully we can achieve this with good coverage this year. A further e-mail from Jeremy confirms the outburst was continuing on April 14: 2005 Apr 14.942UT, 15.74C UNVEILING OF COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE FOR LATE GEORGE ALCOCK Just a reminder that this important event at Peterborough Cathedral takes place this Tuesday, 2005 April 19 at 4.30pm. Further details can be found on TA E-Circular 2086. I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Guy M Hurst
