The object was present on CCD image(s) taken Sept. 30. The object was reported to be at mag 10.3 (CCD unfiltered). The location of the object is RA 18h 32.1m, -06 43.6'(J2000.0). The presence of the new object is confirmed on the most recent ASAS-3 image, which was not apparently detected automatically. Mike Linnolt, Woodside, California, USA has reported via the AAVSO Group visually confirming a stellar object at this position of magnitude V=11.8 on 2005 Oct 1 at 0500UT using comps TYC5124-455-1 and TYC5124-478-1. Subsequently we have received IAUC 8607 in which the discovery date is confirmed as 2005 Sept. 30.522UT and the image was obtained with a 120-mm f/4 telephoto lens. Takao adds that the object was not present on his most recent image of August 15. H. Yamaoka, Kyushu University, advises that the new object appears on ASAS-3 images of Sept. 28.088 and Oct 1.025 at mag about 10 but was not present on Sept. 24.629 (limiting mag perhaps 13). K. Haseda also reports an independent discovery on Sept. 30.417 at magnitude 10.9 using a 120-mm focal-length f/3.5 lens. Observers at Mount John provide the following precise position: RA 18h 32m 04.75s DEC -06 43'34.3" (2000). Guy M Hurst
