Modjaz et. al., Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, report on CBET 324 that a spectrum of supernova 2005ls (found by Mark Armstrong and reported on TA E-Circular 2179), obtained on Dec. 21.21 UT by M. Calkins with the F. L. Whipple Observatory 1.5-m telescope shows it to be a type-Ia supernova, with a spectral-feature age of about 8 (+/- 2) days after maximum light. SUPERNOVA 2005ly IN UGC 934 Discovery by T. Puckett and G. Sostero of a possible supernova (CBET 325): SN 2005 UT R.A. (2000.0) Decl. Mag. Offset 2005ly Dec. 21.12 01 23 28.84 +30 46 45.7 18.6 5.4"E, 18.2"S SN 2003lc also appeared in UGC 934 (cf. IAUC 8260).
