This was confirmed with further observations made on Jan 21/22. Mark's report, which has now appeared in a Central Bureau Electronic Telegram (CBET 375) is as follows: M. Armstrong, Rolvenden, U.K., reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 15.0) on unfiltered CCD images taken on Jan. 21.024 and 21.738 UT with a 0.35-m reflector. SN 2006N is located at R.A. =06h08m31s.24, Decl. =+64o43`25".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is approximately 0".4 east and 0".1 north of the center of MCG +11-08-012. Nothing was visible at this position on his image taken on 2004 Aug.26, (limiting mag. 19.5) or on a red Palomar Sky Survey image from 1996.794(limiting mag 20.8) and a blue image from 1993.782 (limiting mag 22.5). Congratulations to Mark on his 73rd supernova. Nick James.
