Cusumano (IASF-Pa INAF), reports on GCN 4775 that at 03.34.30UT on Feb 18 the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) triggered an alert for GRB 060218. The provisional position is: RA 03h 21m 37s DEC +16 51' 58" (2000). UVOT began taking data 152 seconds after the BAT trigger and there is an indication of an afterglow candidate at: RA 03h 21m 39.8s DEC +16 52' 06" (2000) with an estimated B magnitude of 19.4. N. Mirabal, University of Michigan, reports on GCN 4784 observation of the candidate optical afterglow of Swift GRB 060218, detected by the Swift UVOT, with the MDM 2.4m telescope and RETROCAM imager under partly cloudy conditions. Calibration with SDSS pre-burst observations yields r = 17.55 +/- 0.1 on Feb.19.1438 UT for the OT. This is brighter than the pre-burst observations and confirms it is the OT of GRB 060218. On GCN 4783 Mirabal adds that an extended object has also been detected at RA 03h21m39.68s DEC +16 52' 01.66" (2000). Given the proximity of this object to the reported XRT and UVOT positions for a candidate afterglow, this should be considered a potential host galaxy of a low-redshift GRB. Further multiwavelength observations are encouraged to confirm the reality of this trigger and its possible association with this nearby galaxy. V5117 SAGITTARII = NOVA SAGITTARII 2006 The object reported on TA E-Circular 2203 and found by Bill Liller of Chile has been designated V5117 Sagittarii according to N. N.
